2016 Spring Lunch

DINNERS & LUNCHES

OLD HUISH ASSOCIATION

The OHA held its Annual Summer Lunch at the Oake Manor GC on Friday 13th May - despite the superstitions, the lunch was a very convivial occasion, with 40 members and partners joining together for lunch on a wonderfully sunny day.

Welcoming all guests, Nick Williams mentioned the two recent donations from the OHA, of £450 each to Prostate Cancer UK and to the Richard Huish College as a bursary, and reminded members that this year's chosen charity was Taunton Association for the Homeless. He updated members on an item mentioned by the College Principal at the OHA AGM - the inflatable sports hall had been sold very rapidly! Progress was now underway for the 3-story new sports hall at the College. Finally, he reminded all of the OHA Christmas dinner to be held at the Somerset County Cricket Ground on Saturday 12th November this year.

In the absence of the usual suspects, the raffle this year was managed by Geraint, Peter and Nigel whose persuasive patter and natural charm led to the raffle raising well over £100. Read nothing more than good luck into the fact that David Gill, Past Chairman, won the first prize…

The dinner was as excellent as anticipated (your correspondent especially recommends the individual strawberry trifle) and OMGC were warmly thanked by all present.

The Annual Dinner will be held on Saturday 12th November 2016 at Somerset County Cricket Ground. We hope that the College will again be able to provide a musical interlude for us.
