DINNERS & LUNCHES

51 hale and hearty members joined together for the Association's 2013 Summer Lunch on Friday 17th May. Apologies were received from several members and congratulations were extended to voyagers John and Dawn Davies (who had travelled from Wimborne) and to John Marshall, who had travelled from Bracknell.

Our chairman reported that the AGM in April had been well attended; that Norman Whyte had stood down as Treasurer, to be replaced by Andrew Janes; and that Martin Dongworth, of the '75 vintage, had joined the committee.

Members were saddened to hear of the death of several members, amongst them Fred Clarke (whose memorial service will be held in Bishops Lydeard in July) and Bob Wines, a regular correspondent with your web manager.

A fine carvery was served by the staff of the Taunton Vale Golf Club, with Tony Osmond's rowdy table number 3 getting first dibs at the dinner queue.

The raffle and associated donations amounted to over 300, contributing to the Association's chosen charity, the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

A good time was had by all, and the last guest departed around 3:00pm.

Do make every effort to be there next year!!

Our 2013 Annual Dinner was held in November at the Somerset County Cricket Ground. Our Guest of Honour was Terry Beale, of the 1960 vintage. Music was again very kindly provided by students of the college.
