The OHA Annual Summer Lunch this year at Taunton Vale Golf Club was a real success, despite the grey May weather, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. David reported that, overall, membership of the OHA was pretty constant this year. Our attendance this year was an almost-record 60 and our Chairman's persuasive manner signed up 2 new Life Members. As always, the TVGC did us proud with their carvery lunch and we had plenty of time before and after for fellowship and conversation.

Our charity fund was increased by the magnificent sum of 611, made up from a combination of the raffle, auction and donations from OHA members together with a very generous presentation by James Leeman (Chair of the student council) from the College students of 300.

Our guest this year was John Wyatt who thanked our Members warmly for choosing Children's Hospice South West as the Association's charity this year. He claimed some small association with us - his father was a contemporary of the late Arthur C Clarke!

The OHA Annual Dinner took place this year on Saturday 17th November at the Somerset County Cricket Ground. This was a return to an "old" venue, following several years at the rugby club, and almost 100 members and College staff sat down to a sumptuous Dinner. We received a warm and generous address from the retiring Principal, Dr Peter Avery, and then a moving speech from John Wyatt, telling how family circumstances led to his involvement with The Children's Hospice SW. The interval saw a varied programme of music provided by students Joanna James, Saskia Burbach, Charlotte Kotvics, Jenny Key and Alice Brooks, led by Kathryn Foyle.

Donations, raffle and auction combined led us to make donation of 1,200 to TCHSW on the evening.
